Big Sweep Saturday Oct 5th, 2013
9:00 am to noon
Save Our Lake Organization is recruiting volunteers to help in the annual clean-up of Lake Norman. The 2013 Lake Norman BigSweep takes place Saturday October 5th from 9 am until noon. There are several locations we will meet at on Lake Norman. Boat captains as well as lots of volunteers are needed. As we all know The Catawba River flooded several times this summer, so we know it will take a group effort to get her clean. This is an opportunity for people to perform community service and to help clean-up our lake and protect our river.

Wildlife abounds here on Lake Norman. We enjoy an abundance of birds ranging from the great blue heron to several species of song birds, ducks and geese. You often see the playful chipmunks, squirrels and rabbits as well as an occasional deer.
Lake Norman provides a wonderful array of fish. Whether young or retired, the fishing at Lake Norman has always yielded a day of fun as well as some exciting catches. Keeping our lake healthy ensures future generations enjoyment of bass tournaments, boating, skiing, and swimming, not to mention the necessary good quality drinking water it provides.
